 July 30 1966 England wins the world cup at wembly beating Germany 4-2. The team was captained by Bobby Moore Three of the goals were scored by West Ham's Geoff Hurst.
 28th March 1964 and the BBC'S monopoly on sound broadcasting
is challenged by the arrival of the pirate radio ship Caroline, 3 miles off
the coast of Essex.The station's owner Ronan o'rahilly named it
after the daughter of president Kennedy.
31 August 1966 and the maiden flight of the vertical
take off jump jet, made by Hawker Siddley takes
place.
